ABOUT Stewart IP

My name is Fraser Stewart (梁柏昇). I come from the UK, and have a strong background in IP, having worked as a patent examiner for the UKIPO for 8 years, and also completing a Diploma in Intellectual Property Law. I also have a strong science background, with a PhD in Mathematics and also published several Mathematics research papers. While working as a patent examiner, I specialised in computer technology, and as a result I have a deep knowledge and understanding of Patent law in both Europe and America, both of which differ significantly in what can and cannot be patented in this area. This is especially true for software patents.

Start Stewart IP

I decided to start Stewart IP after realising that there are no affordable avenues for small to medium enterprises in Taiwan to apply for and protect their inventions overseas, particularly in America, Taiwan’s largest market.

Draft a compliant patent specification

Taiwan is the world’s largest exporter of computer chips and has a lot of technology companies innovating and advancing technology. Taiwanese companies file over 20 thousand patents in America alone every year. This process can end up being prohibitively expensive for a lot of companies as it usually involves having to navigate a foreign and unfamiliar patent system, in a second language (English).
I am not only highly experienced and trained in patent law, but as a native English speaker, I am fully capable of drafting a patent specification that is ready to be filed in either the US or Europe, and I can help guide you through the process until your patent is finally granted. Further, I am highly fluent in Chinese, speaking to C1 level on the CEFR, so I can communicate the process to you in a way that can be easily understood.

Premium service

What I aim to offer is a cost-effective or affordable path to protecting your inventions, without sacrificing on the quality of protection you receive at the end of the process, or the level of knowledge and expertise available to you throughout the process.
For the last 3 years I have been working closely with Robertson IP, a patent consultancy firm based in the UK, meaning that in total I have over 10 years of experience in patents. Through Robertson IP, I have helped many inventors obtain granted patents both in Europe and America, all of whom have been very satisfied with the quality of work that I provide. Now, I can provide this same quality of guidance and work to you.
